| No matter how much we all wish we lived in the MLP universe, we have to come to terms that we're stuck on this dull watery rock. So we might as well mention whats happening on it. Here is a place to discuss politics, news, opinions, economics, technological advancements etc. Just remember to be polite and to respect other views. No one wants another r/pol/. | |

Sounds like something I've been hearing from the Flat Earth Society lately who keep claiming the earth is flat, even when presented with scientific evidence of Earth being round like a sphere.

As a NWO 1 percenter with Freemason connections, can confirm that the Earth is a sphere. The real conspiracy that were hiding is the existence of Belgium...

| So, Russia seems to be pressuring Armenia into a military alliance so they can directly intervene in Syria and but pressure on Turkey from its Eastern front.

| A little late posting this to the Forum here. There was a major shooting in Orlando, killing up to fifty people and injuring fifty more. The shooter called 911 to pledge his allegiance to ISIS. | |

| Don't let this negatively affect your views in middle-eastern societies and beliefs though. Just because a handful of people are willing to take their beliefs to the extremes does NOT mean everyone there is.
I'm tired of extremists being used by the media as a way of making racism acceptable.

| I know, a few bad apples spoiled the bunch I guess. I think just about everyone, including people in the middle-east are tired of the events that have been going on, in regards to ISIS. The media makes it all the more worse sometimes.
All in all, it's tragic that innocent victims from around the world have to suffer at the influence and attacks of this extremist group.

Welp, thats Florida for ya. But in all seriousness the problem was that there was no way in preventing this shooting. Maybe armed bouncers would minimize casualties, but the sad thing is that we could not have taken this guy down without trampling his civil liberties (He was on a terror watch-list but the FBI didn't have any hard evidence on him). I guess this is just a moment of "shit happens and we have to just buck up".

The simple fact that this shooting wasn't entirely preventable is probably the most heartbreaking fact of the case. There are not very many ways we could have prevented the shooting, just minimized it's impact. Perhaps armed bouncers might become a reality in the future, if this were to continue. For now, the most important thing is that the local community came together to help the victims of the shooting in any way they could. I heard the local blood banks had long ques shortly after the shooting. In light of the tragedy, it's nice that communities, both local and national come together to aid and comfort those affected by this horrific act.

| I saw that as well, I heard some voters are frantically Googleing what the Europeon Union is shortly afterwards, according to the Washington Post
That joke aside, there has been speculation on how the action will affect the United States. I actually found-out about the result after hearing that the stock market took a nosedive. There is also a bit of uncertainty about how it will affect the United Kingdom financially.

Yeah, a few of my family members are CEO's or executives of companies listed on the DAX(Germany), which was hit the hardest. Findling-Walzager AMB-H for instance took a 10% cut in stock price within the first five minutes of trading. By midday, the American and Japanese markets were hit pretty bad his as well.

| Quick update, I noticed that on Monday the DOW dropped another 250 points or so. Now today, it seems that is jumped 200 points. Other markets I've seen are also rising a bit, so we it looks like the economic impact might be leveling off, at least for the short-term.
Also, millions of of people in the UK have signed a petition for another referendum to stay in the EU. It will be interesting to see how that pans out.

| Tragically, another shooting happened in Dallas, Texas during a protest over a recent police shooting. The snipers attacked the officers ambush style and killed five and hurt six others. The suspect in custody has refused to cooperate and has said to interrogators that he intends to harm more law enforcement officials, according to the Associated Press. | |
